Rudi Skotheim Jensen: Goldfish is meant for dying

Picture a goldfish, and then consider the value of its life. This life is not on any animal rights priority list, it is not good for eating and its body cannot be used for clothes. Perhaps therefore, it is considered to be of very little value. Goldfish are, however, fashionable creatures and decorative pets that demand minimum attention, and in case of death, are easily replaceable. In addition, they are many children’s first encounter with the responsibility of a life - and death (second being hamster).

 "Goldfish is meant for dying" er en forsking innenfor temaet menneskelig ignoranse, med synspunkter tatt ut ifra hvordan vi behandler kjæledyret gullfisk. 

Forestillingen blir satt opp som en perfromance leachture, med Kate Pendry som kunstnerisk veileder, Nina Borgensen som produsent og i samarbeid med Theatreworks i Singapore.

Prosjektet er støttet av; Norsk Kulturråd, Kulturkontakt Nord, UD,  Nordic Circus Network.  

Forestillingen vil ha premiere i Singapore i September 2009, og det arbeides med en turne i Norge og Europa i oktober 2009.
